Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is responsible for over 1.7 million deaths to date. Once one is infected, varying levels of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 develop within the body. The nature and quality of B cells, which produce antibodies, has yet to be investigated. Results of this study indicate that anti-SARS-CoV-2 memory B cell response evolves during the months after infection, which may serve as a mechanism of protection from reinfection, and is essential for effective vaccination.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second leading malignancy diagnosed among U.S. Latinos, which include a heterogeneous collection of subgroups varying in genetic background, culture, and socioeconomic status. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence and distribution of adenomas found at screening colonoscopy among average-risk, asymptomatic U.S. Latinos. Among the the largest subgroups, Puerto Ricans and Dominicans, adenomas represented 30.6%, proximal adenomas 23.5%, advanced adenomas 12% and proximal advanced adenomas 8.9%

The prognosis for patients with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is dismal due to chemotherapy ineffectiveness. Research suggests that certain bacteria found in the pancreatic cancer microbiome have the ability to inactivate chemotherapy. Use of antibiotics may serve as a strategy to enhance chemotherapy and improve survival.
